Byzantine and Ottoman Heritages Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel at around 08.30. We will start our tour with Blue Mosque ( Sultanahmet Mosque) which is famous for the blue tiles adorning the walls of its interior. It was built from 17th century  during the rule of Topkapi PalaceAhmed I. It is still used as a mosque.
The tour will continue with The Basilica Cistern (Sunken Palace) was built to provide water for the city of Istanbul during the reign of Emperor Justinian I in the 6th century. This cistern is an underground chamber of 138 x 64.6 and has 336 marble columns. We will spent about 30 minutes in the cistern.
Lunch will be in a nice restaurant in Sultanahmet accompanied by beautiful scenery of Istanbul.
After the lunch we will visit, Hagia Sophia Museum which was  known as “Megale Ekklesia” (Great Church) during the first construction phase of the monument and its present name  “Aya Sofia” has been used since late fifth-century. The church has been constructed in 537 AD. The Hagia Sophia was converted to a mosque in the period of Sultan Mehmed II in ( 15th century ) which had been used as a church for centuries.
The tour will continue with a walking through The Hippodrome which as a Greek stadium for horse racing and chariot racing. Blue Mosque
The final visit will be Topkapı Palace which was began to constructed  twenty years after the Conquest of Istanbul.  The building was constructed during the rule of Abdülmecit in 1840. Now transformed into a museum, the Topkapı Palace allows its visitors to witness the history, culture, grandeur, magnificence, and profusion of an Empire which lasted for a very long time. We will spent 2 hours in the Palace. ( it is possible to visit Harem section with extra 15 TL per person )
